Manheim auctions

One of Australia's largest auctioneers — insurance salvage, fleet, dealer, government and industrial, run by Cox Automotive.

What you'll find on Manheim

Insurance salvage write-offs (repairable and statutory) alongside non-salvage fleet, dealer, ex-lease and government vehicles, plus a separate industrial and heavy-vehicle division (trucks, machinery and equipment).

How the auction runs

A mix of Simulcast live auctions — a real-time online simulcast where lots are called one at a time and you bid live — and timed online sales that close on a per-lot timer. Most Manheim sales are members-only, so you view full details and bid signed in to your Manheim account.

Getting started as a buyer

A free Manheim membership is required to view full lot details and place a bid. Salvage and some trade sales are restricted to registered members, and a refundable deposit may apply before bidding opens.

Buyer fees

Buyer fees vary by sale category (salvage vs non-salvage vs industrial) and hammer bracket. See the auction buyer fees guide for the current bracketed schedule.

Paying & collecting

At the fall of the hammer a deposit is taken and the balance is due shortly after (typically within a day or two) by the accepted payment method. Once payment clears, Manheim issues a paid invoice and you collect with that invoice plus photo ID from the storage yard. Free storage windows are short before daily fees apply, and salvage usually needs a tow rather than a car trailer — always confirm the current windows and fees with Manheim.

Frequently asked questions

How can I see how much a vehicle sold for at a Manheim auction? expand_more

Auction Intel tracks Manheim listings as they run. Create a free account to see the final hammer price for any sold listing, plus comparable sales for the same year, make and model over the last 12 months.

Does Manheim sell statutory write-offs? expand_more

Yes. Manheim's salvage division handles insurance write-offs including statutory write-offs, repairable write-offs and inspected repairables. Statutory titles can only be parted out or exported — they cannot be re-registered in Australia.

Do I need a Manheim account to bid? expand_more

Yes — most Manheim sales are members-only. You can browse what Auction Intel indexes without one, but to see every detail and place a bid you sign in on Manheim. Its Simulcast format runs live, so you need to be watching when your lot is called.
