Auction house
IAAI auctions
Insurance auto auctions — heavily salvage-focused, US-style sale format.
What you'll find on IAAI
Almost entirely insurance-recovery salvage. Statutory and repairable write-offs dominate; non-salvage is rare. Wide range of damage categories from minor hail to severe collision.
How the auction runs
Live auctioneer-driven sales on a fixed weekly calendar by branch (yard). AuctionNow web-based bidding mirrors the in-yard live sale; lots roll one after another on the gavel.
Getting started as a buyer
IAAI Australia account required. Bidding deposits depend on the lot category. The US-style "buyer's broker" intermediary is uncommon in Australia — most retail buyers transact directly.
Buyer fees
Buyer fees follow a tiered schedule by hammer price, plus a sale-specific environmental and processing fee. See the buyer fees guide for the current bracket table.

Frequently asked questions
How can I see what a vehicle sold for at an IAAI auction? expand_more
IAAI lots resolve to a hammer price as the auctioneer's gavel falls. Auction Intel captures the final sold price the same minute and surfaces it on a free account, alongside comparable sales from Pickles, Manheim, Grays, and Slattery.
Does IAAI sell anything other than salvage? expand_more
In Australia, IAAI is almost exclusively a salvage auction. Statutory write-offs, repairable write-offs, and inspection-passed repairables make up the vast majority of every sale catalogue.
Where does IAAI hold its auctions? expand_more
Branch yards across Australia run a fixed weekly sale calendar. Each branch publishes its own catalogue 2-7 days ahead of the sale date.
Can I inspect IAAI vehicles before bidding? expand_more
Yes — branch yards open for inspection during the published viewing window before each sale. Remote bidders rely on the listing's photo set and condition notes.
